Based in Richmond, Va., the International Mission Board (IMB) (formerly the Foreign Mission Board) of the Southern Baptist Convention sends missionaries to minister to the physical and spiritual needs of people around the world.

The International Mission Board is an agency of the Southern Baptist Convention, which, with more than 15 million members, is the nation's largest non-Catholic Christian denomination. The board maintains the world's largest evangelical career mission force with headquarters in the United States.

Currently the mission board has more than 4,000 missionaries assigned to more than 133 countries in almost every part of the world.
